Following the conception of Nikolay Nosov, a famous Soviet writer of children’s literature, the Russia Pavilion has been designed as a fairyland kind of ideal city, a children’s paradise. It features 12 irregularly shaped towers in white, red and gold; a 15-metertall “Civilization Cube” links the towers. The main exhibition area consists of three parts: the City for Children, the City for Youth and the Big World, carrying themes of “the City of Flowers,” “the City of Sun” and “the City of Moon” respectively. Giant strawberries, flowers and trees abound.

Chen pays homage to the beauty of the Russia Pavilion through this painting. He adds the artwork of Russian masters Kandinsky and Chagall — with their flair for color, fantasy, and imagination — to enhance the magical scene.
